One Team vs. The Contractor Shuffle

See exactly why Structural Solutions Group's single-source design-build approach eliminates the chaos, finger-pointing, and surprise costs of traditional construction.

Traditional Approach

Multiple contractors, multiple headaches

Architect/Designer

Who's accountable when design doesn't match build?

Engineer

Engineering changes = change orders and delays

Foundation Contractor

Foundation issues? "Not my fault, talk to the engineer"

Steel Erector

Steel doesn't fit foundation? Finger-pointing begins

Project Manager

Trying to coordinate 5 different companies with 5 different priorities

The Reality:

  • ✗ 5-7 different companies to coordinate
  • ✗ No single point of accountability
  • ✗ Change orders eat your budget
  • ✗ Timeline slips blamed on "the other guy"
  • ✗ Your project becomes their problem-child

SSG Single-Source Process

One team, one contract, done right

Design & Engineering

Our team designs AND engineers - no handoff, no miscommunication

Foundation

Same crew that designed it builds it - perfect coordination

Steel Erection

We ordered the steel, we pour the foundation, we erect the building

Completion

One team owns the outcome from first call to final key handoff

The Advantage:

  • ✓ One contract, one firm bid, one team
  • ✓ Single point of accountability
  • ✓ No surprise costs or change orders
  • ✓ Timeline you can count on
  • ✓ Your project is OUR priority

The SSG 5-Phase Process

Every project moves through these five phases. The same team — and one project manager — owns each one.

  1. Discovery & Design

We meet, walk the site or review plans, and translate your needs into a workable design. SSG handles design in-house — no architect-vs-builder handoff.

  2. Engineering & Permitting

Stamped engineering drawings sized to your soil, wind zone, and building code. Permits filed by SSG with the right jurisdiction so the schedule stays on track.

  3. Foundation

In-house concrete crew sets the slab to spec. The team that engineered the building is the team that pours the foundation — no coordination gap.

  4. Steel Erection

Pre-engineered frame, panels, doors, and trim go up in the right sequence. Same project manager owns the build from contract through this phase.

  5. Finishing & Handoff

Interior finishes, electrical, insulation, and the items in your scope. Final punch-list walkthrough, then warranty handoff with documentation.

Why Single-Source Matters for Your Budget

No Markup Stacking

Traditional projects have 3-4 layers of markup as each contractor adds their percentage. SSG's single-source approach eliminates redundant costs.

Fewer Change Orders

When the design team, engineering team, and construction team are actually the SAME team, miscommunication disappears. No costly mid-project "fixes."

Faster Completion

No waiting on subcontractor scheduling or coordination delays. We control the entire timeline, which means fewer carrying costs for your financing.
